After more than 131 people jumped into Lake Michigan on Saturday, a total of $22,433 was raised for the Mason County Sports Hall of Fame. Todd “Scoop’ Hansen was the individual winner, raising $1,082.72.
The varsity boys basketball team raised the most as a team, receiving $4125 with the help of the elementary and middle school basketball teams. The proposed Sports Center will be located in the heart of downtown Ludington, and is based on the premise that strong, positive life lessons are the foundation for building successful and rewarding lives. Construction on exhibits for the Mason County Sports Hall of Fame are expected to begin next year.
