West Shore hosts holocaust survivor

West Shore Community College, in partnership with The Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies in Muskegon, will host Kindtertransport survivor Dr. Renata Laxova on Tues., April 25, from 12:30-1:45 p.m. at the WSCC Center Stage Theater.


Laxova was one of 669 Jewish children in Czechoslovakia saved from the Nazis by British humanitarian Sir Nicholas George Winston’s effort known as the Kindertransport. This was a series of rescue efforts between 1938 and 1940 which brought thousands of Jewish children to Great Britain. Laxova will provide a firsthand account of her experiences. This presentation is free and open to the public, but seats are limited.
