The Mason County Board of Commissioners met yesterday. Action items included the jury board wage being increased to $12.00 an hour. The commission approved the building of a roof over the dog run at the Mason County Animal Control. 50% of the funds to build the roof will be provided by Lakeshore Animal Friends and the remaining will come from the public improvement fund. The Mason County Airport was a major focus during yesterday’s meeting. A fuel rate formula was approved for the Mason County Airport to sell fuel, along with an agreement with Avfuel to act as the vendor. With the retirement of Dave Johnson and the end of the county's contract with Mason County Aviation, the board decided to provide fuel self service equipment as an investment to allow for more cost efficiency. Credit cards were approved as a form of payment and landing fees were determined. Fees are for planes with a Double Engine Turboprop and larger and range from $75 to $200.
