The West Shore Community College Foundation is hosting a planned giving seminar on Thurs., June 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the college’s Administration and Conference Bldg. The seminar will feature a variety of fund development topics including the basics of bequests, lifetime gifts, gifts via wills and trusts, retained income gifts, and more.
The keynote speaker is Matthew Downey who has worked in the non-profit sector as a consultant, program manager and development officer for nearly 20 years. “Fund development professionals or those looking for opportunities to give to area charitable organizations will benefit from this seminar.” said Thom Hawley, the executive director of WSCC’s Foundation. “The intent is to provide the financial tools foundations and individuals can use to retain more donor dollars to support charitable projects in our region,” A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
