Five were pulled from Lake Michigan on Tuesday Morning after their fishing boat became engulfed in flames. After it became apparent there was an issue, a nearby fishing boat quickly pulled the occupants off the boat. One person was treated for smoke inhalation. The U.S. Coast guard arrived shortly after at 11am. Flames were seen for the next 30 minutes until the fire was put out at 11:40am. The U.S. Coast Guard and Mason County Sheriff Office attempted to pull the damaged vessel back to shore, but it sank 65 feet down off shore of the Ludington State Park. Names of those aboard have not yet been released.
