There was the 3 car accident this morning on US-10 west of Scottville. A 45 year old man was driving his full sized 1995 Chevrolet van heading west when he crossed the centerline and collided head on with a 2011 Kia Optima driven by a 35 year old Scottville man. The 35 year old was killed instantly as a result of the crash. His 1 ½ year old son was properly secured in the vehicle, sustained minor injury and has been returned to family. After the head on collision, the van struck a westbound Dodge Caravan driven by a 23 year old Custer man that was traveling behind the Kia. The 45 year old driver of the Chevrolet Van has been flown by Aero med to Munson hospital in Traverse City. His 22 year old passenger was taken to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital by Life EMS with minor injuries as well as the 23 year old Custer man and the 1 ½ year old passenger. Names of those involved will be released once family have been notified. The case remains under investigation.
