On Tuesday February 27, 2018, The Manistee City Police Department initiated an investigation into a home invasion that occurred on Harbor Point Lane in the City of Manistee. As a result of the investigation a 37-year-old Manistee resident was arrested for Home invasion 2nd degree, Safe Cracking, Felony Firearm and 3 counts of possession of a stolen financial transaction device (credit card). Safe cracking holds a life sentence. A search warrant was served in the 200 block of W. Parkdale avenue. Numerous pieces of property that were reported stolen were recovered. A semi-automatic handgun and a AR-15 rifle were also seized. At this time, the investigation is ongoing. The suspect is lodged in the Manistee County Jail.
