Ludington Officially Appoints New City Manager

Ludington city council meeting last night. The city has officially appointed its next city manager and the contract was approved for Mitch Foster. Foster is finishing is time as the village administrator in Winneconne, Wisconsin. The target for Foster’s start day is now March 18th. Foster has a three-year contract that states he will make a $97,500 salary with other benefits offered on the same terms as were provided to former city managers.

Also at last nights meeting, an ordinance for an ad hoc recreational marijuana committee was adopted. The committee will consist of 8 people. 3 will be current city council members, 1 is the mayor, another member will be someone from the city planning commission, and the last 3 spots are for registered voters of Ludington who are 21 or older. There will be a meeting at City Hall on Tuesday, March 5th at 7 PM for anyone interested in being considered for one of those three citizen member positions.The purpose of the committee is to investigate and review all aspects of allowing recreational marijuana facilities within city limits.
