Students in elementary and middle school are invited to join Fit Club at Mason County District Library for active fun. Fit Club, led by Leona Ashley of Spectrum Health, will explore the lifelong benefits of physical fitness and good nutrition through games and play.  Signed permission slips are required for some activities.  Forms are available at the Mason County District Libraries in Ludington and Scottville.  All Mason County District Library programs are free.  Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Fit Club Wednesdays at 4:00 pm at the Scottville Library.

The Amazing Grace Race

The Amazing Grace Race is a fundraising event for Covenant Christian School and Ludington Area Catholic. All of the proceeds that are raised at the event will be split 50/50 between the two schools and will go to their General Operating Budgets. The event will take place at the Ludington State Park on May 5th starting at 6:00 pm, back by the Hamlin Dam. There will be two running events! The first will be a one-mile fun run for kids only that will start at 6:00 pm. This event will be FREE! The second event will be a 5k race that is open to anyone interested and is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm. Admission for the 5k is $20 per runner. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for men and women. We will also have food available for purchase! Hot dogs, chips, and water will be served. The schools ask, that if you can, please pre-register NOW at www.amazinggracerace.weebly.com.

5th Annual Hospital Hustle

Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital is hosting the 5th annual Hospital Hustle on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 10 a.m.  Runners and walkers of all ages and ability are invited to participate in the Hospital Hustle featuring a 5k and 1 mile fun run/walk. The race will begin and end in the hospital's south parking lot. A free-will donation will be accepted at the race with all proceeds benefiting the Family Birthing Center at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. Registration will also be available starting at 9 a.m. on the day of the race. LHS Sports Boosters 6th annual golf scramble

The LHS Sports Boosters will be having their 6th annual golf scramble at Hemlock Golf Club on Saturday, May 13th. This is a 4 person scramble and the cost is $65 per person. There will be lots of cash prizes, raffles and food!

During Trauma Awareness Month in May, the American Red Cross urges eligible donors to help ensure lifesaving blood is available for patients with traumatic injuries and other serious medical needs by donating blood. Pentwater Historical Society 2017 Spring Dinner

The Pentwater Historical Society will host their 2017 Spring Dinner Wednesday May 24th beginning at 5:30pm at the VFW Hall in pentwater. Dinner will include orange chicken, BBQ ribs and sides. There will be live music by Lee Murdock and a 50/50 raffle. Tickets cost $17.50 and can be purchased at Decors by Sandra or Pentwater Fair Trade.

2nd Cavalry Civil War re-enactors

The Michigan 2nd Cavalry Civil War re-enactors will be returning Sunday May 28th.  In memory for all those who died for our freedom Civil war re-enactors will provide a presentation of the american flag, reading of the Gettysburg Address, Patriotic Music during mass including taps. There will be an 8am Mass at the St. Bernards Church in Irons and then a 10am mass at the St. John Cantius Church in Free Soil.
