Application Deadline for Maritime Magic Arts/Crafts Show

Artists and crafters are invited to participate in the 6th annual Maritime Magic Arts/Crafts Show at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts. The show will be held Saturday, June 3 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. indoors at the Arts Center. Deadline for applications is April 1. The Maritime Magic Arts/Crafts Show will feature, but not be limited to, items of a maritime or Michigan-specific theme. Booth spaces rent for $40-$90; table spaces are $20-$35. April fool’s/Cabin Fever Party

The Sherman Township Hall in Fountain is hosting an April fool’s/Cabin Fever Party on Saturday April 1st. There will be a stew cook off with a 1st place prize of $50.00. Entries must be submitted by 5pm with judging beginning at 6pm. Music by “Cats-n-jJmmers” will begin at 8pm. Admission is $5.00 and all proceeds go to the Fountain Area Community Center.

The Ludington Area Catholic School is offering a Lenten Fish Fry, Friday’s during lent from 4:30-700pm. Take-out is available. Menu includes a variety of fish choices including a new shrimp salad or Mac and cheese for the kids. Admission is 10 for adults and 6 for children. A lenten Fish Fry, March, 17, 14 & 31 and April 7 & 14 from 4:30 until 7 at the Ludington Area Catholic School.

A Euchre Tournament fundraiser

Hunter Safety Class registration Deadline

There will be a Hunter Safety Class on April 22nd & 23rd. You must be pre-registered and pick up the Hunter Safety book to take the class. The class will run both days from 9 to 3. There is no charge for the class. Sign up for the class will be at Captain Chuck’s in Ludington on April 15th, from 10 to noon. All Access Jam: A progressive concert for an accessible community.

Downtown Ludington is the place to be on Saturday, April 15th, 2017! The public is invited to the “All Access Jam: A progressive concert for an accessible community.” 

The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at several locations throughout the downtown area, including The Mitten Bar, The Blu Moon Bistro, KRAVE Frozen Yogurt & Candy Shoppe, and Timbers Bar and Grill. 

Some of the area’s finest musicians have donated their time to the cause. The evening will include performances by Adam Knudsen, Chad Rushing, Mike Lenich, John Merchant, Dean Dostal, Joey Mankus, Jason Hargreaves, and Andy Thomas. 

All proceeds from the event will be used to establish the “Accessibility for Mason County” Fund. Goals of the fund are: to increase accessibility for everyone regardless of ability, to construct accessible structures throughout Mason County, to promote accessibility awareness, and to create a lasting resource for future accessibility projects and events. 

Future projects through the “Accessibility for Mason County” Fund include: the construction of wheelchair-accessible swings and other adaptive playground equipment, the establishment of accessibility awareness events, and the construction of other accessibility-related structures, such as ramps. 

Join us for spectacular live entertainment while supporting a great cause.

Prom Dress Distribution

Donated blood is perishable and must constantly be replenished to keep up with hospital patient need. Red blood cells are the blood component most frequently transfused by hospitals and must be used within 42 days of donation.

Spring Business Expo

Mason County Family Events will host the annual Spring Business Expo Saturday, April 22nd at MCC High School Gym from 10am-3pm! This event will serve as a way for local businesses, direct sales representatives and local artist to reach the public with their goods and services. Admission is Free. Food and beverages will be available from the MCC concession stand as a fundraiser. The business expo will provide information about the Be the Match program. A portion of the proceeds will also go to Hunter Bowman, a young man that lives in Mason County that was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. He is going to Texas for treatments.

White Pine Villiage Craft Show Deadline

Vendors are being sought for the Annual craft show to be held at Historic White Pine Village on July 22, during Mason County Day. On Mason County Day, residents will be allowed free admission,from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to enjoy all 30 museum buildings and sites, as well as the craft show.

The craft show will feature hand-made items from many different categories, including jewelry, clothing, pottery, food, wooden and leather items, painting and drawing, and textiles.
